Save with advance tickets for Lucas Oil Speedway's Monster Truck Nationals "Spooktacular"

Wheatland, Missouri (October 11, 2016) - After the oval-track season came to a memorable conclusion at Lucas Oil Speedway last weekend with the MLRA Fall Nationals and Big Buck 50, the focus shifts to a "Spooktacular" ending to the 2016 season.

The Monster Truck Nationals Eve of Destruction comes to Lucas Oil Speedway on Oct. 22 and it will be a combination of big, powerful machines and a Halloween trick-or-treat celebration.

More than 60,000 pounds of Monster Truck Thunder makes its annual visit for the big one-day show. It will combine scary speed, ground-shaking sound of furious action from six world-famous Monster Trucks - Bigfoot, Raminator, Heavy Hitter, Barbarian, Snakebite and Dawg Pound.

Joining those 10-foot-tall and 10,000-pound giant trucks will be the car-eating, flame-throwing mechanical monster form the Jurassic age - Megasaurus - and the high-horsepower stunts of Wheelie Wizard.

Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson pointed out that the event is expected to attract a large crowd and that fans, by purchasing tickets in advance, not only can assure themselves of a seat but save money in the process.

Advance tickets, available at area O'Reilly Auto Parts locations, are $2 cheaper than they will be at the gate. Tickets also are on sale at and

"This is one of our most-popular events of the season and tickets are sure to be a premium come show day," Robinson said. "If you've never seen the Monster Truck Nationals, it's impressive. The pure power, the sounds, the flames shooting out ... it's unlike anything else we have at Lucas Oil Speedway.

"Combine all of that with the Halloween celebration and it's a great opportunity for a family night out."

A free Pit Party, with trick-or-treating encouraged, is included in the admission ticket at 5 p.m. Kids are invited to come in Halloween costume to the Pit Party for trick or treating. Fans also can take a Real Monster Truck Ride at the Pit Party, during intermission and immediately following the Monster Truck program, which fires up at 7 p.m.

When the Monster Trucks begin battle with their 1,500-horsepower motors go full throttle at the green light, the competition gets serious. Bigfoot will look to throw a Halloween scare into the challengers as the "Original Monster Truck."

Some other big events during the program will be:

Meet the drivers: Come early and not only see the big machines up close, but meet the drivers for autographs and pictures.

Sergeant Smash Monster Truck Ride: Get the kids and buckle in for the ride of your life on board a real Monster Truck during the Pit Party and during intermission.

Megasaurus: The three-story high machine weighs 35,000 pounds and chomps cars and flings fire. This will be its first appearance at Lucas Oil Speedway.
